Create a New Wallet

Create a New Testnet Wallet:

If you’re brand new to the Bitcoin world, or, you’re looking to start from scratch, you can create a new wallet and get yourself squared away.

1. Start by tapping on the Create a new wallet option and proceeding forward:

1. Next, you’ll need to set a password to help you gain access to your account.

• We recommend creating a strong password to ensure security, and also storing this password in a safe location. Oyl is a non-custodial wallet and we are unable to assist with recovering your password should it be misplaced or lost.

1. Read and agree to the Terms & Privacy Policy and continue.

2. Next, you’ll be prompted to click Copy to back up your seed phrase. This is a manual process that could mean writing it down and storing it securely, or using additional methods to ensure the phrase is safe!

You’ll want to store this seed phrase and ensure no one has access to it but you. As anyone with access to this phrase has full control and access to your wallet. In addition to the password, as Oyl is a non-custodial wallet, we cannot assist with recovery of this phrase should it be lost or compromised — so make sure you keep good and secure backups of this phrase in case anything happens!

1. Once you have this backed up, you can tap the It’s Verified button to re-confirm that phrase.

1. Next, personalize your wallet with a name and background. Once completed, tap the Continue button.
