Import an Existing Wallet

Already have a wallet? You can easily migrate that into the Oyl ecosystem by using the import wallet option.
Start by tapping on the Import wallet option:
You will be prompted to import your seed phrase.
Next, you’ll need to set a password to help you gain access to your account.
We recommend creating a strong password to ensure security, and also storing this password in a safe location. Oyl is a non-custodial wallet and we are unable to assist with recovering your password should it be misplaced or lost.
Read and agree to the Terms & Privacy Policy and continue.
Next, personalize your wallet with a name and background. Once completed, tap the Continue button.
Some bitcoin wallets have unique derivation paths which are used to derive keys and addresses from your seed phrase. Oyl Wallet supports some common derivation paths and allows you to update your wallet to use those paths.
Go to the main Menu and select Settings
From the Wallet standard dropdown, select the derivation path that matches the path used by the imported wallet.
If you are importing a seed phrase from Ordinals Wallet, select the Ordinals Wallet derivation path from the Wallet standard. Your Ordinals Wallets assets should then be visible in Oyl wallet.
